So, I've reached Germany and I'm trying hard to keep up with the weather and temperature here. Of course, snow is nice but it is very cold. It is supposed to be spring now but there is snow - for the first time in Germany. It snowed the night before we landed in Frankfurt airport and when we reached [on the 6th of March] it snowed again. We, the people from Malaysia were all like - woah! - but after 5 minutes of taking pictures and videos and staring like - Ö - at the snow falling, we were frozen [practically] and was "stowed" back into the airport for refuge to defrost [okay, I exagarated]
After that, I took a 2 hours and 15 minutes train to Kassel with Mala [who went down at another station before me] and a volunteer name Kathi from AFS Germany. I pity her and I feel very grateful to her because she stays near the train station where Mala went and she has to bring me all the way to Kassel [around 1 hours and 45 minutes from her stop] and wait for another train to bring her back home. I was welcomed by my family at the train station in Kassel and we took another 45 minutes of car journey to my host family's house which is big with a frontyard and a backyard [most importantly, they have heater in the house!!!]
I went to church the next morning and was brought around the town so that I know where is the bus stop and the shop and the bakery. And I spent the rest of my time at home warming myself because it is freezing cold outside. And I really do mean freezing cold as it is minus degrees outside. I really have to get used to life here.
On Monday, I started school at Wolfhagen and I really stood out a lot because I'm shorter than most people there and I have black hair and I have dark brown eyes and my features are flat and I look oh-so-asian and I can't understand what they are all talking about and I can't speak a word of German.
The good part is I haven't had any feeling of homesickness yet. Hope I can pick up German fast enough. So that is all for now.
Greetings from Germany :]
Tschüss
Lots of loves and hugs,
Rynne
p/s : I miss my pillow at home...
